About The Notes
Larry Brennan, RN, MS
(The Dummy on the right) Is
a former Director of Nursing and presently Administrative Supervisor at
Community General Hospital of Greater Syracuse, New York. He is a retired
Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves, a 24 year member of the Society
for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop
Quartet Singing in America
(SPEBSQSA). He is also one of the writers of the first nursing musical -
Who's Got The Keys? Larry is a nationally known nurse humorist, but even more
importantly he is the only NurSINGologist
in the world, thus awarding himself (quite preposterously) a
PhD* -
Professor of
harmony
Development. Larry is the
founder of the “NurSING
Notes”. When the other three (3) dummies [oops – I mean nurses] aren’t available
to sing, Larry, a ventriloquist, has found someone who is always available, and
who knows all the words to the songs he knows – Charlie! Charlie has begun
making cameo appearances with the “NurSING Notes”. What a bonus!
Glen Gardner, RN, MSN
With over 30 years in Nursing, Glen Is
currently the Administrative Officer for
Behavioral Health at the
Syracuse VA Medical Center.
He possesses an uncanny knack for forgetting the words to songs at
critical moments. Glen's magic tricks and comedy insights have amused
those who are easily distracted. As the lowest member of the group,
Glen booms out the Bass part and delivers jokes in a manner that only
he can do. Glen is an original member of the group, and claims
that he also is the founder of The NurSING Notes.
Archie McEvers RN, MSN, ANP
Is
an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the Open Heart Unit at the
Upstate Medical University in
Syracuse, NY. He is a dedicated Barbershopper and a member of
SPEBSQSA like Larry and he went
to school for most of his adult life like Wayne. Archie is undoubtedly
the most talented flautist in the group, and he's just a darn nice
guy. He can sing most any
part, but you usually hear him as the Tenor or Baritone for the
NurSING Notes. Together with Wayne, Archie has developed the world's
first musical physical assessment tool. This provides the group the
ability to assess entire audiences using music.
Wayne Beach RN, MSN
Is a
Data Analyst in the Office Of Information and Analysis for the
Upstate New York VA
Healthcare Network. An original member of The NurSING Notes, he
was an Emergency Room nurse for over 20 years, before turning to the
administrative side of healthcare. Wayne now spends his days immersed
in clinical data and dreams about spreadsheets at night. When not
straining a computer to it's limits, you can hear him singing
Baritone, and an occasional Tenor. Wayne has written several of our
original numbers, but since they all sound the same, you only need to
listen to Cholesterol on the Music page.
